Last year, on the occasion of the movie 'Tintin' and the secret of the unicorn ridden a special Thalys between Brussels and Paris. This was printed in Tin Tin style.

It succeeded the Märklin Tin Tin license or use, Märklin brings in a very exclusive edition of TGV train pack 37795.
The model will be a 10-part Thalys with exclusive Tin Tin printed in special packaging.

The price of all this fancy stuff is € 999.95

Personally I think the yellow don´t mix well with the purple. But it´s still tempting as it´s quite an odd paint scheme. If it will be released in the end of the year I´ll think about it. There are alot of items on my wishlist.

....yes, there were heated discussions between MARKLIN and MOULINSART (the owner of the rights on TinTin and Hergé's creations).
This set has almost failed to emerge and initially should have been even more expensive than that....
Regarding distribution as well...Finally this model will be available through the Marklin network and in the Tintin shop at the headquaters of the company in Brussels , only.

Both have stayed in service during several weeks....(not only for one day...)

So, as mentionned by Steven & according grootendorst website ...the choosen model should be the "Spielberg's movie " one, which is not surprising as Moulinsart currently markets several figurines and objects of the film...
Yes it is an amazing livery , I'm tempted too , in the real life, real trains wearing a livery in connection with the cinema are quite rare ...even more in connection with comics !.....

The 37795 is a export item. It will be small number (under 500 sets?)

I just ordered 37795 and it's almost sold out from the euromodeltrains (NJ). I think this train is going to be a big hit . Looking forward ... Later this year.! Perhaps the sound and the trian functions will perform in a good way..!

I think so....and the knowledge and skills of Marklin about pad printing and coloured tampography will make a killing ! ( look at the high end external finish on Marklin Thalys and TGV model, already...)

This product will meet two markets with two kinds of enthusiasts : the fans of Tintin and....MRR enthusiasts , more specially Marklin users ! (no Trix version)
And other sources of motivation , the theme about cinema + a quite large panel of MRR enthusiasts of Era 5 trains :during several weeks this Thalys was in service through Belgium , France, Germany and Netherlands...
This model will appeal to collectors and those looking for original trains with an original livery that really existed...
Also the fact that this model never was produced before (....and due to expensive royalties and exclusivity rights , etc...etc... probably will not be produced again. A one time serie, for sure...!)

The model was shown on the Marklin Stand at the last "Mondial de la maquette" in Paris a few weeks ago , without its box...
According a friend of mine who was at the show, Marklin has managed to make something beautiful ...It was highly successful .
It will be packed into a wooden box

The Tintin train was a special 'paint job' of the train for the train trip that carried the actors and others between the Paris premier of the film, and the Brussels (IIRC) premier for the film. I believe it did only one trip in the Tintin livery.
