As a result of this forum I found a new Hobby Shop about 2 hours from me, ACEuroTrains. Tomorrow I am going to visit following work, I am keeping my fingers crossed that this place has some neat stuff. I must be honest I am just happy that a new hobby shop has opened ( I think they have been open since last year) and they are carrying European stuff, this just seems almost to good to be true.

Well tomorrow night I will give a report and share with the group photos of any new purchases, here is hoping. ThumpUp

Hi Chris,

Nothing lost, you might as well give them a try.

2 hours is not a short journey anyway.

Depends on where you live.
People in my area don't hestitate to drive 2.5 hrs one way just for a doctors appointment or shopping spree and then travel back all in the same day, no matter what the weather conditions are or season.

According to their website, they have one item in stock :)
Let us know if the shop is well stocked.

The shop's owner is now a member of this forum, and opened a thread about his shop.

So I visited AC Euro Trains today in Stockton, CA. I was able to meet the owner, Andrew and his son who was helping out tody. Besides being a new member of the forum Andrew is also an ETE member I think.

Anyway as far as the train store goes I would offer the following. Andrew did have a moderate amount of inventory, if he was a typical American Model Train store that carried both American and European trains I would say he had more stuff then you would find in an average American train shop, so that was positive. The mix of stuff was mainly Roco and Marklin. He also had ESU products hanging on the wall, he mentioned he was a dealer as well.

The Marklin and Roco he had seemed to be a mix of new items, consignment items and stuff he had picked up from others second hand but still in like new condition. I ended up buying a couple wagons (they seemed new but had stickers from other stores on them) and I bought a Marklin 37135 (a consignment item in like new condition). Andrew expressed an interest in getting more stock for his store and he also mentioned that he was expecting a shipment soon of additional Marklin products.

Some of the stuff I saw that I thought the members might be interested in knowing about was the following:

A lot of boxed like new M Track and M Track Sets

A Marklin Big Boy

A variety of dutch, swiss and and other Electrics and diesel swithers

A new crocodile as well as an ICE train with extra cars

And finally several various frieght and passenger wagons

Of course he also had C track and as mentioned before ESU products.

Over all I would say my trip was worth it, I enjoyed looking around and I will be back to see if his in store stock grows.

I hope some of the members found this update helpful.

I had a look at their website, which to be fair didn't reveal a lot other than they are agents for good variety of quality MRR Brands including M of course.
However I had a saved search on ebay for Klass 64 39640 and Andrew has had one on there, under ac_euro_trains, as a buy now but recently dropped his starting bid. I had a go at it yesterday and won it and have had great communications with him since. Shipping via USPS Airmail to NZ only $US19.00 which is very reasonable and the real cost I believe. Cant wait for it to arrive. Smile
It will be rostered on at the head of the three M 00792 thunder box cars I got earlier this year, when I get the layout going that is Wink

Hi Glen congrats on your locomotive. As I said I bought a locomotive from him and I haven't had any problem with it and I thought the experience was a good one. I think he is working on improving his inventory as it is light. However I did see a decent amount of M Track sets new and in the box as well as some interesting sets and locomotives that might be of interest to people. I think he said he was going to work on his website soon to advertise the inventory he has.
