Thanks, The both have high-efficiency propulsion with a bell-shaped armature and a flywheel.

Fantastic !

Just looking at them makes one want to go out and buy one !
Ah .. the beautiful steamers of yesteryear.

In Cape Town, there is a steam train ride once a month from central Cape Town to Simonstown (about 30km) and back.
And the sound of the whistle is audible for miles around.

Regards,BigGrin

@ Steven: those are great engines, they will be great runners!

@ John: I know what you mean, I live 5 minutes from the station and once a steam train got here, we still heard all about it...

Arrived this week from Lokshop 37810 BR 50 DB.

The detailing is good and sounds very nice as well. Fitted a Seuthe #10 to her and she smokes like an 18 y/o from the 50's Smile

Only problem is, like all the new Marklin Decoders, it will not edit on the ESU/Ecos (CS1-R) sliding scale ThumbDown so a CV edit is necessary Bored

XXXThe photo is rubbish I'm sorry Blushing , just a quikie taken on the new layout (still in mockup) with flash as it's night time here SleepXXX

Edit; new photo uploaded taken using Jacques advice as I just got a new remote trigger for my Camera BigGrin

Hi All,
I'm just a bit pleased with myself for just winning this Set on ebay this morning. BigGrin I've been after one for years and have since collected an absolutely mint example of the Loco, and two of the M42383, "Swiss Old Timer Car Sets" but version but with the white lettering. I do have one matching set M 42384, with the yellow lettering I may keep to lengthen the set Wink

The other AE8/14 Lok and Car Sets (M42383) will be sold once this is in my own hands and I'm happy with it Smile
This will be another set worthy of a "Train Safe Vision" Display Tube ThumpUp

Alex,

Steven is correct, so you won't be getting one from your regular dealer any time soon Blink , however, I do know of a German Marklin Dealer that has one, and at a reasonable price, and he will deduct the Mwst for you for shipping outside of the EU. See here;

Please let us all know when you recieve your 39017 and show us a nice photograph Wink

Hi Alex, That would explain the delay, I think M send stock to their dealers downunder by U Boat, and by todays standards they are slow as ThumbDown
However do you really want 31021 Alex Confused They are fine models I would have ordered myself, had I not had them in multiples allready Smile Blushing
BTW I did not order 39017 either because I allrerady have 39013 Wink
As for paying up front, and then not receiving the item you ordered, that totally sucks Scared .
Please excuse me Brian Blushing

Hi

I put some picture on this >>link<< and a sound clip on YouTube of the new Swedish SJ Rc3 1058 features.

It looks like M starting to have some issues with their molds if you check right rearview mirror, and they also painted side lines over both left right front handrails, not the same sense of accuracy like previous nostalgia model Rc 1016 Crying

The good part is that the model has now been dropped in price to € 209, Ist das nicht wunderbar ThumpUp

Please do not overpost this topic with messages and images of the same items, it's enough with one post per new purchase.

This topic is intended to be of a kind of "newslist" regarding new purchases only.

Detail presentations of items should ideally go into the "My Locos" section...

Dear webmaster,

They all look alike because all four are V200 loco's, but they are 4 different loco's of different dates / years with different details ans so on.
I don't want to hang out the wise guy, but Ian shows only 2 photo's of each loco. That's not too much, is it ?
I appreciate Ian's pictures and I think many of us do.
So please do not be so hard on him.

Juhan, I sort of agree with a few images and then revert to the my layout thread or my loco for continuance etc but to be specific for "newslist" is one forum topic which I would not post much as mine are generally old anlaog one saved for history and then converted etc. So I hope this can remain generic as such Cool

It's just general advice, not a rule... Please keep your purchases to one post per occasion...

Of course you may post images but please keep it/them in one post, which means - add the images to the post where you showed the initial purchase...

BTW, by "newslist" I mean a "member purchase news" list - not a "new items only" news list...

So as I understand it, when I come to post a better pic of my recent purchases, I should delete the old one and replace it with the better quality image Cool
