Hi All

I Received these sets mid this week and the excitement levels were high.BigGrin
They were not easy to get out and you had to be careful what you grabbed to try and remove them.
However once out and they were on the track (no pictures yet)and I put power to the track I got a shorting out sound. I made sure they were on properly and same again. I checked the dinning car as these have lights installed for the lamps, it turned out to be the light system and the metal inserts around the globes I rejigged them problem solved.

I hooked them upto the 39193 E19 I got also. Thats looks good with the 42229 set.

On the first lap coming out of a R3 turn two boggies jumped the rails on the older style of the carriages. I then reconfigured positions of carriages and again same place then the Postal van did the same thing, also it was happening on the odd turnout aswell.
I suspect possiably the buffers turn with the boggies and if you dont have a level track they get caught when they straighten up.
I wonder also if they need more weight over the boggies?
I put the carriages that were derailing to the back of the consist and this work fine for awhile. but soon as you put a loco pulling from that end they derail again.
Another thing is it looks like the Dining car is a different scale to the other cars.

I know you all want pictures, but your going to have to wait unless someone else is more organised. I have to say I'm a bit dissapointed Sad overall and unless I can solve this derailing issue they become an expensive ornament.
I'm running them on a tempory layout thats resonably level especialy where they are derailing.
They look like the correct wheel sets.

So at the moment NOT HAPPY JAN!Confused
