Hi everyone,
I was given some old Marklin catalogues, and in the 1984/85 catalogue page 182-183 a very interesting 3 level layout is featured. Title is "Fun at three levels". It is a very busy layout, with minimal scenery but loads of Mtrack.Cool
My question is: Does anyone know if this layout is included in any Marklin Mtrack layout book, or bettter still is there a plan on the internet somewhere?
Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Bob.

Yes but nothing on trackplan booklet.

There is three trackplan in the 84/85 catalogue as you see it but no list/ref number of M-tracks.

I have a plan for it somewhere as I was going to build this one too..

I also suspect that it has already been posted in one of the archived topics, but I have no idea of what search term to use..

I will have a look in my library for you in a little while.. (Breakfast comes first!)

Yeah it has, because it was me that posted it, but I don't know which topic. However, it should still be in my list of photos stored on the forum, so I will have a look to see if it is still there.

There is a three levels layout in Marklin magazine No3 (2011). You can find track plans (for c-track and k-track ) in
http://medienpdb.maerkli...ads/MM_0311_Download.pdf
Maybe helps.
Thanks

Hi, A big thanks to Adrian, Bigdaddynz and Antonios for the references. I have downloaded the layout in the Mrklin Mag no3. It will take me a little time to get my head around that one.
If Adrian can crank up the old Pc and find his plan I would be grateful. I have a little more room and I am thinking of adding some type of multilevel layout to my existing layout.
cheers
Bob.

Bob,

I did fire up the PC, but I can't find the plan.. All the plans for the layout from 2003 and 2004 are there, but not that one.. I also found all the e-mails where I sent copies to various people, but the attachments are no longer there because I changed from Pocomail to Thunderbird a few years ago.. Such is the joy of digital preservation..

I suspect that I may have backed it up into a disc somewhere.. In that case it will take some time to find it again... Six years is a long time.. Sorry about that, but I will keep looking..

Hi Adrian,
Thanks for looking. Normally you will find it when you are looking for something else. I will scan the original Marklin catalogue page and then attempt to enlarge the plan to get a handle on the quantity of track sections required. It looks like that the stations, turntable etc are standard configurations which are in the track plan books. I just like the clean white layout. Had a look at Thomas's layout , which is VERY impressive.

Hi, this is a very interesting, alternative layout. I would imagine the operation part of running it a-lot of fun in analog use, though I'm not so sure about digital. When I first saw this years ago in the catalogue I thought they just didn't want to landscape it but one wouldn't see much except for the upper level anyway. Good luck building it. Cheers,PeterSmile
