Well, there goes. I'm going to order a croc and about a dozen cars....
I was tempted by the croc before, but wasn't going to pull the trigger without matching cars |

What is that track on the pictures? I hope it is just a narrow gauge track in front of the locomotive. I would hate to see more narrow gauge editions of the TRAXX. Just to clarify, do the American consider O-scale the same as 0-scale (1:43.5)? If so, I hope you can change the claw couplers with the 0-scale NEM couplers. |

Soren, this is a complicated question because Lionel and others produced model trains, O-gauge, at less than 1:48 in the old days, sometimes 1:45 or worse!! Lionel also took liberties with the track, couplers and wheel flanges. As I understand it, most of the Lionel and MTH are now 1:48, for the American market. So O-guage is now close to O-Scale. There are American model railroaders who only model in "true scale", 1:48. P.S. you have a very nice blog. Good work and Good reading. |

Robert The only "O" scale track I've ever seen has been 3 rail. If a 2 rail version exists, where would I find its manufacturer? (I've never cared for the look of the solid 3rd rail, so 2 rail "O" would really be interesting to me.) Also - how does the MTH croc achieve the neat trick of picking up current from either 2 rail track or 3 rail track? Thx, Tommy
